Welcome to
ADS Wines
We are moving into high gear for the crush. This has been an interesting year, with weather that’s been somewhat cooler and a little wetter than unusual. However, things look fine in the vineyards, although we might start picking a little later than usual in some areas. We’re especially excited about Pinot Noir this year; this has been our fastest growing varietal and we’ve increased our supply of very good quality fruit for the 2010 harvest so we can keep up with demand.
Pinot Noir is also a challenging grape for vineyard managers and the winemakers. John McClelland has written about Pinot Noir for a number of vintages and has supplied us with some interesting information about this grape, its history and why it’s known as the grape that gives winemakers (like me!) gray hair. John’s article is located in the News & Events section, so grab a glass of Silver Peak, Brownstone or one of our other Pinot Noirs and take a look.
